Windows 8 is the game changer; it changes the idea of personal computer, combines the functionality of mobile and desktop, and pushes the standardization of an application that runs across devices. Processes and applications are not the only thing affected by this shifting – metro interface or touch screen, but also the design or look and feel of windows operating system; old way of using start button is going to be hidden if not totally removed by its creator.
Surface uses interactive, live tiles and intuitive app which are the current trend in the market. It follows similar pattern of Iphone and android but with an advantage as a multiplatform OS and the capability to switch from laptop to tablet. Very innovative, isn’t it? Are those features strong enough to compete?
Stop the Pressure
IOS and Android seem put pressure on Microsoft. IOS for example, is starting to eliminate different types of connectivity like keyboard that’s why Surface is build to seize the change. Last US holiday, Windows felt the fashion of Iphone as it dominated the top selling mobile platform. On the other hand, Android Operating System becomes popular smart phone in the market for its cheapest price, in fact, according to GOOG Chairman Eric Schmidt, Google is activating 1.3 million android operating system daily.
Windows 8 is struggling to fill the demands of consumers. First come, first serve is an advantage, and for sure that’s not surface. For price, android is still the best option. For fashionable style, IOS is already there doing the extraordinary. Then, what more for surface?
