Military Modernization of China
No doubt, China has many advantages in military modernization. According to defense.gov, the improvement of China’s military advancement is growing fast in the recent years. China invests in long term transformation of military forces which includes ballistic and cruise missiles, naval power, air power, air defense, ground and amphibious forces.
People expected those kinds of advancement especially in military but China’s strategy is not focus on the promotion of what they have and capable of doing. Remember Sun Tzu is a Chinese. “Observe calmly; secure our position; cope with affairs calmly; hide our capacities and bide our time; be good at maintaining a low profile; and never claim leadership.” Deng Xiaoping’s “24 Character” Strategy.
What could be the strategies of Philippines in case of war? Maybe they can asked help from other countries. You don’t need to answer that by the way because war is not the answer.
Cyber Bullying is the Modern War
Philippine does not have aircraft-carrier, nuclear power and modern missiles to engage in war. Conventional warfare is not the best option for Philippines. The Philippine government had been filed a democratic protest against China but it seems that China does not care about it.
Some Filipino netizens express their voices through online using social media. Cyber bullying is their way of fighting back. Since bullying does not need to be physically in touch, they can send dirty emails and words that will damage the reputation of Chinese.
Cyber bullying is not the answer nor can reduce the tension on the issue of territorial disputes. A good example is a sleeping bear which kept poking by arrogant people that may cause severe harm once this wild creature made angry.
